The ark of gopher wood is never actually called Noah's Ark. It is called ark of gopher wood the first time it is mentioned; the rest of the time it is called simply the ark, in the context of the Flood or Noah.

The ark had separate rooms, and was pitched inside and out. The length was 300 cubits (~450 feet); the breadth 50 cubits (~75 feet). It had a window.

In the ark were found:

  • Noah, with his wife
  • Shem, with his wife
  • Ham, with his wife
  • Japheth, with his wife
  • Seven (or seven + two) of every clean animal
  • Two of every unclean animal
